De chutney connection....with West Africa!

Een banjo. Een moeras. Een groene muppet. De setting voor de Rainbow Connection. Die gelegd kan worden tussen "the lovers, the dreamers and me". Wij vervangen de regenboog graag door "chutneys". En we hebben m gelegd, de eerste echte chutney connection! Met West Afrika nog wel. Op een plek die we nooit hadden verwacht: de kerstborrel van Europeana. Een van de zeer geliefde klanten van MK5060, Margo's consultancy. Margo had naar die kerstborrel een potje piccalilly meegebracht voor bij de kaasplanken. En daar zeilde een andere dame naar binnen met potten onder haar arm, onder luid gejuich van haar oud-collega's. Want deze dame woont inmiddels in Nigeria en is daar een bedrijfje aan het opstarten in chutneys en jammen van lokale groenten en fruit aan het starten. De kennismaking was kort en zeer krachtig en we gaan in het nieuwe jaar over de mail verder. Een groot cadeau, want met chutneys wereldconnecties leggen....dat is een grote, hele grote droom van ons!

A banjo. A swamp. A green muppet. The setting for the Rainbow Connection. That can be established between "the lovers, the dreamers and me." We like to replace the word Rainbow with "chutneys". And we're in the process of establishing it: our first real chutney connection! With West Africa of all places. A connection made in a place we'd never expected it: Europeana's Christmas drinks. Europeana is one of the cherished clients of MK5060, Margo's consultancy. Margo brought a pot of picallilly to the drinks to accompany the cheeses. And in came another lady with pots under her arm, welcomed by loud clappings and greetings from her former-colleagues. Because this lady meanwhile has left the office to live in Nigeria where she is starting a chutney and jam business. Made of local vegetables and fruits. The meeting was short and very powerful and in the new year we'll continue over e-mail. A big present, because to establish world chutney connections...that is a big, very big dream for us!!
